I've been hearing bobcat out here for years. We've spotted the bear, shot the coyotes, fed the deer, but never more from the bobcat than growls after dark and the horses up the street getting freaked out.
I'm kinda jealous you actually get to see yours.

Trail camera's are fun. Voles were eating up my wife's flowers so I set some snap traps for them. I would find the traps with half a vole in it 20-30 feet from where I set it. Since I live on the main street in the city a mile from the city limits in any direction, I figured it was the neighbor's cats that were eating the voles so I got a camera to find out. To my surprise I have caught a Fox, two Raccoons, two Possums, and three Skunks(multiples confirmed by all in a picture). Also got a guy stealing the neighbor's lawn mower from his shed. City cops recognized him from the photo!
A couple of my sister-in-laws wanted me to set cameras at their houses ~5 miles out of the city (now have 4 cameras!). So in addition to more of the animals at my house I have caught two herds of Deer and five Black Bears.
Note the two cats on the porch. And about 10 minutes later all the bird feeders were on the ground.

That sounds intriguing, what does registration grant you/require from you?
I haven't heard back from them yet. Apparently, they are hoping to trap 50 this year, give them an ear tag and GPS tracking collar and then release them. I don't really need this one to be relocated, but if they want a place to set up a trap to tag and collar, I'd be happy to let them do it here. This cat seems to follow the same path all the time, so it should be reasonably easy for the experts to trap it.

That's a great picture. Two cats with laser beam eyes being real quiet on the front porch.
anyone who has coyotes around and happens to have a female border collie, get the border collie spayed. The resulting pups will be awesome, actually the best dog I've ever had, but they're incredibly difficult to find homes for.
I'm only a few miles from you, and this summer our neighbor called one morning and told us he saw a bobcat hanging around in his back yard and our back yard in the mid-morning. He said he had never seen a bobcat so big in his life (and we get a lot of wildlife around here). Thankfully, there haven't been any sightings since.
This is one well trained Bobcat:
I go walking with my dog in a field near my house sometimes. I take my camera along in case I see anything cool. most times it's just White Tail and Turkeys but about a month ago I managed to sneak up on a Bobcat out there. I thought it was just a fat barn cat at first, but the closer I got I wasn't convinced, it was just too big for how far away I was. I was getting closer trying to get a better shot, but when we started to get closer, Mongo (my dog) finally caught it's scent and took off towards it.
These where shot at full zoom with my 300mm lens.
and right before Mongo got the scent.
I can't help but worry about rabies with these guys around. Bobcats are a major vector.

Sorry for the double post, didn't get the hang of the imbed. This site's really easy to use, just operator error.
