Went to MidwayUSA.com last night browsing for a SAA. They list 100 models of single action centerfire revolvers and 94 of them aren't available.
This is nuts.
I have to wonder how much it would cost to have a 80% SAA frame made by someone with a CAM milling machine...
I want in on that, as well. Love to have a 38-40, for an oddball reason! Or a Blackhawk in .30 Carbine (another odd ball reason)

Which one do you have your eye on?
I've been thinking of getting something engraved and cool or maybe 3.5 barrelled Thunderer. Neither are in stock when I go look for them
I'd love something with a saw handle grip, case colored frame and charcoal blue barrel/cylinder with about a 5" bbl and chambered in either 357 or 45 Colt. Mebbe 44 Spl or 38-40 just for something different...

Surplus Arms &Ammo has assembled upper receivers (receiver only) with bcg for $180. Not as good as $150 back in November, but down from $245 last week.

"Daily Deal" $200 off!?!?!?
I'm seeing stuff like 1800s Colts with lower prices than like, a Draco.
In reply to Lee :
I saw that. Aren't WASRs supposed to be cheap?
Goodness me. And I was always a little embarrassed to admit that I paid $800 for a (nearly new, late model, stainless) Mini 14.

Were, Century has jumped the shark, they must have a copy of Cheaper than Dirt's play book, the way they are pricing things.
WASRs were $299 on sale for a long time. They went up with Obama's ban on Russian imports, giving the Romanian WASR, fewer AK variants on the market to compete with made it more valuable. They ticked up to $550+ during the '16 election cycle and stayed around $450-500. Trump expanded the ban to include Ukrainian firearms, Molot, and all AKs went up again.
That "should" be a ~$650, $750 if you're desperate, WASR.
Century acquired the rights to import the Turkish MKE made MP5s that Zenith imported for years. Century is now importing the exact same gun with their name on it and charging, wait for it... $1,000 more than Zenith was. It was $1,800 and is now $2,800. For a CENTURY MP5 clone. I mean MKE makes good stuff, but for $2,800 I'll get one that actually says H&K on it. I don't know what the hell is going on with Century Firearms?

Unless I'm mistaken, WASR rifles do NOT use standard AK magazines. Can someone verify that for me?

In reply to stroker :
All of the Century imports are modified to accept standard double stack AK mags.
They whittle the mag well open and weld in a little metal plate inside the mag well to approximate the stamped protrusion of most other AKs.
I've got a Century WASR, AK mags fit loose and wobble a little, but they've never fallen out and don't have any feed issues.

Look on the bright side. Rifle prices being what they are that rifle is going to be worth $800 for a long time...
In reply to noddaz :
Fair point. I never regretted spending what I did and have no intention of selling anyway. Just had to contend with occasional raised eyebrows from people who never understood why anybody would buy anything that wasn't an AR.
In reply to DarkMonohue :
If I could have found one in the $500 range I would have bought one. But by then they were $600 and climbing and the ar popped up Locally for $500. My one gripe on the mini is magazines. They're expensive and not as easy to find. Cant roll into a gun show and pick up a dozen for $100.

'Cause a mini 14 isn't an evil black automatic assault rifle!
A Mini-14 was the second rifle I ever bought. The first was an $89 SKS that had (to this day) the worst trigger on anything I've ever shot.
I sold the SKS to finance the Mini-14. If I knew knew then what I know now, I would've kept the SKS, fixed it up right and bought a surplus M1 Garand and M1 Carbine back when they didn't cost an arm and a leg.
The 6.8 Mini-14 had my attention for a while, but I didn't get one and the production run was so limited, now I'd be worried about parts.
Local gun shops are pricing beat-to-hell Mosins and Enfields for $500+++ and people are buying them because they can buy ammo for them.
I swapped the eotech to my little m&p 15-22. It's fun. The big stuff is bagged away. $30/mag ain't worth shootin.
I did try out a Scorpion the other day. I want one. And 9mm is still pretty easy to get here. Just gotta hit the right spot on the right day.

Stag again. AR stripped lower blem $64
blem stag lower
But more importantly, Stag has bolt carrier groups!
I'd love another Mini, and I'd give $800 for one too.
Anybody have experience with the Mini 30?

I don't, but have done a fair bit of reading. Seems that they aren't always happy with surplus ammo. Apparently the firing pin isn't quite long enough or isn't shaped correctly to reliably fire off the primer.
Perfect Union was a pretty good Mini-centric forum. Maybe they still are. It's been a while since I've attended. I really enjoy owning and shooting guns, but the current focus on gun culture and politics really isn't my thing. But there may be some more current info there if you're inclined to pursue.
