I am interested in getting back into metal work. As I enjoy copper and brass, brazing is the best way of joining these metals. I much prefer MIG to torch. I have done some research and found some info, but would like to hear from experienced folks here. Thanks, Chuck

TIG yes, MIG? Not heard of it.
I hate braze since it seems to crop up as previous bodywork repairs when I need to MIG a panel back in the spot where it was previously brazed.
Edit:
Had to check it out. It is a thing. Silicone Bronze wire and Argon gas.
I have not tried proper MIG brazing but I have used Tig wire while using my Flux Core welder to help bridge a big gap.
One day I will get a real machine and a proper 220v outlet to actually do things correctly.
The silicone bronze is (was?) used in some seams in unibody cars where spot welds were not right, and steel welding would compromise the high strength steel. K cars and that ilk had a couple of brazed seams somewhere.
So why do all the car restoration shows absolutely hate brazing? The peckerhead on Fantomworks went off on brazing on one episode.
In reply to spitfirebill:
Because they invested big money in giant TIG machines. It would be embarrassing if some old guy with a torch and a coat hanger was doing the same thing which is generally what people picture when they hear brazing.
Brass is a huge pain to get rid of if you want to weld with steel, plus brass is not nearly as strong as the silicon bronze.
Google mig brazing?
