how come? I've never watched either. But I recognize that characters in popular shows have consistently been Halloween costumes for a long time. And as far as I can tell, the show isn't popular for the subject, it's popular for the writing. They try to use a lot of science based threads to run ideas- which is pretty cool. Badly written shows don't last long, on the other hand. Not my cup of tea, but neither is/was Mad Men.
Meh. I watched two seasons of it on netflix because everyone said "blarglhlggbestestshowevarzzzzz" but got bored with it pretty quickly. I can't say there was anything particularly great about it at all. Since I am the only person in the universe to feel that way I have to assume that it is me that is lacking somehow. I saw enough to know it is probably not for kids though - even 15yr olds. edit: It does amaze me that someone put a deal together to make and sell action figures from that. Who did they think the market was? Does anyone over the age of 6 play with action figures?

It builds and gets better and better. Just FYI. It's never a pleasant watch, but the last season is a freight train that won't stop.

Is it just me, or is the figure's head oversized and weirdly misshapen, like a Mike Judge cartoon character?

I think it depends on what you mean here. I do not believe the show is in anyway a glorification of the situation. So, if you see the situation as a realistic reflection of how society is (or can be) then maybe yes (but society has always been pretty f'd up on the fringe). If you mean making a show like this just for entertainment is pathetic, then I think you may miss the point of the show.

Action figures ain't just for kids:

Good point. Walter White's a jaywalker compared to all the comic book and sci-fi villians you can probably buy figures of in there and who nobody bats an eye at.

Hey does Toys R' us sell anime figures? That's where you'd find the real sicko baddies!

On a Halloween related tangent- I dressed as a hobo a few times as a kid for Trick-or-Treating. Torn shirts, fake bruises and all. hm..
You haven't been to seattle lately. The place is literally overrun with homeless people. It wasn't a dig. It was the truth. I walk 5 blocks bus stop to work and pass 10 people sleeping on the ground or park benches.

Then our plan is working.

I'm not surprised Toys r us sells the action figures as much as I am there were kids in there. All I ever see are other grown men rifling through the Hot Wheels cars and action figures.

It's hit CNN. Apparently all the Breaking Bad figures were in an "adult action figure area:"

http://edition.cnn.com/2014/10/20/living/breaking-bad-action-figures-toys-r-us-protest/

"Kids mimic their action figures, if you will," she told the station. "Do you want your child in an orange jumpsuit?"

So mass-murderous interstellar despots are apparently still acceptable in classic black attire.

I am with GPS. I didn't like the characters, knew they were going to keep going downhill and everything was just going to keep getting worse. There wasn't a single character I cared about enough to want to look at it anymore. I turned to Bianca and said "Walt is going to have something to do with her death" the moment Krysten Ritter was introduced and when that came about we just stopped watching. Not in a "grr I hate this" way. Just an unable to sustain interest thing.

I am not surprised by the action figures. Most action figures are adult collectibles instead of toys. I know for a fact that I saw actual poop action figures mixed in with the ponies and whatnot a month ago

Potentially more controversial than an old white dude in a hat.

The Heisenberg action figure they're in an uproar about is one of the ones I sell online for my jerb. Within 12 hours of seeing this story on the national news I was sold out. As a commissioned employee I'd like to say thanks paranoid mom for putting the spotlight right on this figure.

As a side note the Breaking Bad figures are pretty tame (and cheap) compared to a lot of other action figures.

Then every so often they throw in humor, like when the fly was loose in the lab. That whole episode was like something out of Looney Tunes.

Some of the really dark stuff will have you wondering whether to laugh or clamp your hands over your mouth. As noted earlier there's a lot of very well done cinematography and along the way you can't help but feel both disgust and empathy for Walt.

I thought the show "Breaking Bad" was about Craigslist sellers describing the condition of the system used to slow the vehicle. Now I find out it's about a meth dealer. Do I get partial credit?

In much the same way adults collect Hot Wheels cars theses days, adults collect action figures. Hell, I'll admit I have a few left over from my comic book collecting days.

I suspect if anything, more adults buy action figures than kids.

Ding ding ding! Yes, I believe that bad press is part of a marketing strategy for some items. How many of us had watched the show but hadn't heard about the release of these action figures before this "news story"? What's the easiest, possibly cheapest way to reach the largest audience? Bad press.

And Breaking Bad was excellent in so many ways. I respect any actor who can make me loathe their character and yet feel empathy for them at the same time. Really good stuff.

As for the action figures, they should issue the cars of Breaking Bad hotwheels style. THAT I would probably buy.

i see Axe Cop- a character created by a 5 year old kid and his 29 year old brother that now has a cartoon that shows in an animation block called "ADHD" (Animation Domination High Def)on Fox opposite SNL- in the front of the turd in that pic.. i'm sure the turd is from that show.. if you aren't aware of it, check it out.. it's great..

The next time I play with my dolls it's gonna be great. I've got Barbie, Ken and the cast from Breaking Bad all loaded up in an RV and headed out to the desert. Now I just need a way to have Barbie shed all that excess weight so she can look like a real meth addict! Poor Ken......it's a shame what that drug cartel did to him........
