I just saw it...I don't know if I am more appalled by the film itself, or my fellow Americans...

I laughed my ass off though...

The only possible way you could get me to watch either movie would be to give me a fully-built and sorted Spec E30. With a tow rig. And I'd want the titles signed over and in my hands before I sat down.

Sasha Baron Cohen is the least funny "comedian" since Martin Lawrence.

Sorry. I'm just not amused by the whole concept of being a complete and total shiny happy person, and then making fun of people when they don't know how to react to you. I think he's a mean-spirited little pissant with a superiority complex.

Yea, I cant stand him either. I saw borat, I thought it was terrible. In one of my college classes the teacher made us watch one of his "ali g" interviews, and yea, he is not ammusing in my opinion,

I guess I don't see any of it as "mean-spirited." I really like watching people's behavior in akward situations. And I really liked Da Ali G show...and the movie.

Yeah I liked ali-G and Borat was funny but Bruno was a little too over the top.

It had funny bits; however, I'm still not admitting to seeing the movie to people I work with.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, speak for yourself! I'm a 23 year old male with no kids who does King Julian impressions. I'm still safely within that 18-24 demographic.

Nope, I'll still be doing it at 30.

The penguins are HILARIOUS! Loved it in Mad. II when the plane's finally taking off and they slip Boston's "More Than a Feeling" into the 8-track...

I admire the amount of effort it takes to setup all the fake companies needed to pull off his stunts and I admire his attention to detail with costumes (he re-invents himself/creates a whole new person everytime). His dedication to the character he's created is impressive as well. All that said, I can't stand him. Eventually, everyone will find him annoying; they did the same thing with Tom Green.

I can't even stand the commercials so no way would I go see the movie.

Hmmm though maybe for a new Camaro setup exactly how I wanted, and the corresponding '69 equivalent both in my name and in my drive way before I went. Maybe.

He's just a Euro-trash Tom Green. The Jack-ass guys at least understood that abusing themselves was much less liable than abusing the public directly.

In my opinion, it is "Comedy" for 8 year old boys and pot-heads.

Honestly, if you were a shop-owner or someone just trying to do their job and you had Borat or Bruno come in and berkeley with you for hours at a time just to make you look like a fool on film, how would you feel?

Sure they likely were paid for their time, but how much do you think they were paid for that time? How much would it take for you be filmed being played for a fool?

I find the movie itself and the reaction to it fascinating. I am not sure what it says about queers and straights. Which group is more offensive? If you replaced all of the queerness in the movie and replaced it with straightness would it still be funny? Would it still be offensive? I enjoyed every minute of it. I am looking forward to the DVD to see what got cut. Anyway keep the opinions coming, loved it, hated it, walked out, whatever!

As far as people who create fake personas, work their way into places their not supposed to be, and do outrageous things to make people look like idiots... I much prefer The Yes Men.
