Could be. I remember watching something similar to that back in the 80's on wide wide world of sports. I am pretty sure they called it gymkhana back then.

I don't watch movies anymore, but this was one of my favorites back in the day and these clips are 99.5% the reason why. These were good car chases. Aside from a few extraneous explosions, the driving in it is mostly believable and I gotta give them props for using a Peugeot 406 V6 and its actual engine sounds. :D
The 450SEL 6.9 is a clear tribute to C'etait une Rendezvous (hell, the whole thing is), and the chase ploughs through a fruit stand like all good car chases should. :D "The" Citroen XM (fun fact: same V6) changes between a 1st gen & second gen grille a few times but who cares.
