As a former Ohioan I always thought these were great. In my day they couldn't sell booze. The only allowable alcohol was beer or wine. But, the also sold "trunk goods" like softener salt, dog food, and most other things that came in 40#-80# bags and Quickie Mart types of things. Usually had a staff of 3-4 guys who took you order as you drove in, filled your trunk with whatever, and cashed you out. In and out with a trunk load of supplies in about 5 min. And, you stayed warm and dry. Funny thing is that my in my current location, Wisconsin, they think such things are crazy.
