Apparently Google is associating access to those particular image URLs with your machine, specifically where you'ure logged in to view mail. The whole thing about the hotlink thread is that they're not hosted on this forum, and we don't have permission to view those images, no matter what page the link's embedded in.

There is a kind of "cheat"..you can upload the images from your HD (if it's an image you've found elsewhere, just right-click and "save") to a photo-sharing site. I use Photobucket--it's ugly and full of ads, but it works. Sometimes I even post up my own pictures. Heck if I'm enough of a miscreant to hotlink, what's a little cheating, right?
First car I drove stick on. Followed by an FJ45 Land Cruiser in the Aussie Outback, running cross country
The one that really taught me how to drive stick properly.

interesting ... even though I'm not logged in on GMail it still lets ME see them but not you ... I deleted the original post ... more ... "learn something new everyday" ... guess I could go to all the trouble to download them and then repost ... awwwwww really not worth all that ... thanks for the explanation
obligatory hotlink:

I did a wee bit of googling (this all made me a little curious) and I suspect that google checks the cookies on the computer requesting the image for ownership (or other permission), and your user on that machine has the appropriate cookie stored (and only machines on which you had viewed those images would have that, and only while logged into that machine as whatever user was logged in when you viewed those images in gmail)... Man that's too much text for the hotlink thread.
Was looking for an X Prepared or E Modified BMW 2002, and found this. It'll do.

Cool hotlink, but is that the car on which you learned to drive a manual?
Replacement for the TR-4:
Learned to drive stick in a GLC just like this one except the fancy stripe decals were not there, but it was the sport model.
Virtual Clone of the car I learned how to drive a stick on. Sure it was a glorified Pinto, but I had a ton of fun in it.
My first stick. Only it was rattle can flat black in places with red spot putty all over. Friends in college called it the Japanese Beetle. I purchased the car for $100 and a car battery. Learned to drive stick to get it home as my brother followed behind in his car.
learned to drive stick on this...
but learned more on this...
PS neither were as nice as the above pictures
