Hmm, we all call turn 5, 6, and 7 the carousel.
In reply to tuna55:
I haven't been to a Lemons event, I was just told they ran the west course and used the sharp right turn 12 and the 90* turn 13. That west course would be boring, I'd rather drive the kart track.

I really don't think I would care to drive that Lemons configuration though. No kink, no carousel, and not as much speed out of 13. :what the:
I've been wrong before .. as some of you-all have pointed out .... but I still don't thing that's T14 at CMP ... where is the inside curbing ? and like I said before the straight seems too short ( yeah I realize it could be the for-shortning effect of the camera ) + I don't remember that much sand on the left side of the straight heading towards T14 ...
In reply to wbjones:
Now that you mention the inside curbing of T14, I think your right. There should be some there, although I am always more concerned about the track out curbing of 14 and having my teeth rattled out of my head.
I can't remember the existence of sand off of track-left going into 14 or not, wasn't looking for it.

We've run like three different variations. Jay was afraid we'd wreck everything with the first few races, so we had the west course with a giant and very tight chicane. We liked that in our little narrow 2400 lb car and our 4.88 gears. Then the chicane went, then we got the fast version of 12/13, then we got the full course with the fast version of 12/13. It's really a very nice course.
For reference, here are the Hongs in the same corner.

See? Another picture. Same corner, dude. I was quite literally in the car when this was taken, I think.
In reply to tuna55:
E36 M3, that picture looks almost identical to the other with just more cars. I never look over where the kitty litter is in that pic, had no idea it was back there. This pic shows the gators starting a little further into the turn, again, I never really paid attention to where they started but I know how the track out gators feel.

Yeah dude, I stay the hell away from that curbing. Especially with the LTD, the thing is just too big to get that upset that late into a corner. A teamate (who shall remain nameless unless he decides to reveal himself) hits them almost every time, it's tempting to try and carry speed for that long straight. You could argue his approach works pretty well, you could argue that it gets pretty bunched up in that corner, and you pick whatever line doesn't have cars in it. I think the most successful argument is that we're all a bunch of hacks who have no business on a racetrack anyway, so as long as you stay more or less on the black stuff and going in the appropriate direction, you're probably fine.

More proof for you. The link for the picture is as follows:

The 2012 Lemons calendar has us at CMP on the 3rd and 4th of March. Game, set, match.
No idea who this guy is:
I took a 350 mile ride today, temperatures were about 95-100 until 9pm or so when it cooled off.
Time for a beer.

better pic here and YES there is the inside curbing ... the camera lens causing the straight-away to look so short is (one of ) my problems ...
and I've looked at some other pics of the straight-away heading into T14 and there actually is a strip of sand on the outside ( who knew ) guess I'm always focused on the up coming corner
so yeah it does look like T14

The Beer is from San Francisco, so that is not where you rode...?
Nice green bike, is that a Kawasaki? (jab
Went to see a hot air balloon launch this morning. I'm not sure I'd want to float around in a picnic basket wherever the winds take me.
