This is really cool. The lengthened "bed" area actually helps the lines of the car.

You better find a recipe (even if it's not your own, or the one from your fave restaurant) PDQ, dude. There's a lot of awesome on that plate.

Pabellon Criollo on Food Network (not from La Arepa, the local cart): Courtesy of Tyler Florence. Haven't tried this recipe myself, since the cart does it so well. The rest of the plate I assume is fairly self explanatory: Black beans, rice, fried egg, avocado, fried plantains, dusted with some kind of cotija-like cheese... Sub cocaine for the cheese for that Poopshovel variation with some kick.

A link is not a picture. Portland may deserve some of the miscellaneous flak it gets for hipsterism, food snobbery, etc... That being said, living here has its perks. Example from Shut Up and Eat:

The latest copy of Saveur has an article on Portland's food carts. Not bad, though they skipped several sqare blocks of the carts downtown that started it...

One of these days when I'm less project-buried (hahahahaha) one of those kinds of things will turn up in my neck of the woods...

In the meantime, the garage project is getting closer all the time

Of course, that truck would never fit in this garage...

This seems like a decent time to cover some of my history, in terms of my own cars. Unfortunately, I don't have digital access to pictures of most of them, so these are googled...

My first, the '75 Nova.

This one didn't handle as well, but I've always loved Falcons. Grew up with two '64 wagons in succession, learned to drive in the second one. '64 Ranchero:
