I just read this on a LT1 forum...jeez
Small Block & Short Block means the same thing. Same goes for Big Block and Long Block. The difference is the Bore Stroke. Small blocks have a shorter stroke meaning the crank turns over faster than a Long Block. They rev up much faster. Long Blocks have more torque but take longer to rev up and it typically takes the piston a longer time to go from the top to the bottom of the cylinder. thats the definition of bore stroke. Small blocks have a shorter trip to take up and down.
