Years ago they had a exhibition race at NHMS that was only about 10 laps or so. There were a couple cars that finished the race with blistered right rear tires. And in case you were wondering - their laps times were almost equal to the IndyCars that were racing that weekend.

I must have been lucky to have never seen any deaths at any of the supermodified races I've been to.

I find this funny but my feelings on the Spyder is that Can-Am missed an opportunity to do something really cool and unique. They COULD have made it look awesome with some old-skool hot rod, motorcycle or steampunk look but instead went with snowmobile on wheels.

There was a period where several drivers were killed in situations that really shouldn't have done them in. There was some sort of chassis rigidity that transferred a great deal of crash force through the drivers compartment.

I argued that the lever action was center of gravity to the tire's contact surface at the ground and negative roll was impossible. I honestly didn't follow his explanation, if there was one. I can imagine a hummock in a motorhome effect giving negative roll, yes I can. And I've seen the "Lean machine". But I don't belive in negative roll, no I dasn't. And no hotlink. again. damn me.
IT's easy to get negative roll in a car. Normaly the CG is above the roll center of the suspension so the force pushes above the roll center so you 'tip' the car outwards as your used to seeing. If you have a high roll center and a low CG so the CG is below the roll center you will 'tip' inwards.
Some would suggest that's not a bad thing ....

These are all super badass, but can they turn right as well? Can these be made to handle or is the offset too great?
