All those little bikes reminds of a race I saw at the OLD Hialeah Racetrack, probably 20 years ago. To spike things up a bit, they invited kids to make a one lap race on their bikes. Bunch of studly youngpups showed up at the starting line with their 20" bikes, and one sad looking dork with his 10 speed. It was a 3/8ths mile circle. Half way around, all the studlys were sucking air, and the 10 speed dork was just cruising along. He won by a big bunch. Cheers, and, as a dork myself, I cheered myself.

First fight of the BD-10, 1992. Like a lot of Jim Bede's aircraft, it was cool, and fast, but went nowhere.

Not to distract from the Gettysburg reportage, but today is also the 150th anniversary of the Surrender of Vicksburg after a 40+ day seige.

Luminary bags decorate the floor seal inside the Illinois State Memorial at the Vicksburg National Military Park in Vicksburg, Miss., Wednesday, July 3, 2013. The Grand Illumination is an event honoring 19,233 casualties from both sides either killed or wounded during the Vicksburg Campaign of the Civil War. Each monument has at least 100 luminary bags representing casualties. (AP Photo/Rogelio V. Solis)

In reply to phaze1todd: My first BMX, a 1983 Supergoose. I had it one year and then someone broke the lock off my garage and stole it.
It was replaced by a Diamond Back Viper. I managed to hang on to that for about five years before it too disappeared.

I raced an Auburn, then designed my own frame when I was 16. Got out of BMX shortly after. I still have both frames though and enough parts to put one together. Still need to do it one of these days.
