I called NTB (where the tires were purchased about 4 yrs ago) and asked about possible warranty coverage. The sales minion claimed the warranty was void 5 yrs after the date of manufacture. He was befuddled when asked if that over-ruled the purchase date.
Two new tires were purchased early this morning, and no, NTB did not get my business. I will pay them a visit, though, to let them dispose of the crap tire free-of-charge and to thank them for crossing-threading a stud (which broke when I changed the tire). Hand installation and torqueing was specifically requested when the work was performed so their crew is totally incapable of following instructions or properly threading lug nuts.
