Confession: I've NEVER had a key to my MX6. EVER. (This is part of why i got it so cheap.)
Moron PO lost it the day i came to pick it up, he had it when i test drove it.
I started it with a screwdriver and brought it home, upon which i found out that the Escort key would start it and unlock the doors, but wouldn't turn off past the "ACC" position.
Solution: Remove key, finish turning to "OFF" with a penny jammed into the slot.
I scrounged and found a new ignition tumbler, door locks, and key from my parts car. Installed door locks, went to go put in new tumblr/ignition assembly.
And found that the "new" key from the parts car worked perfectly.
Awesome.
Sooo... i use a 1988 MX6 GT key in my 1990 MX6 GT. Win win win.
My moms minivans keyless lock command would unlock her coworkers car. It was very strange and should not of happened but they tried it andit worked 100% of the time. They just parked at opposite ends of the lot

If I remember right Tiff's Invicta only has a key to unlock the doors. Has a push button starter.

Same up to 64. If you didn't turn it to lock, it was active (maybe a feature?).
Because of this, they did not have anything holding the key in. A Demo derby guy once told me this had an interesting side effect for him. He hit a wall and stalled the engine, but the key bounced out. So he ended up fishing around on the floor for his keys in the middle of a demo derby!

Oh, good catch on that one.
I am guessing that guy does not have very good hearing... well at least not anymore..
I did once see a Crown conversion with out full firewall, that was a twin turbo!
My Story about Keys:
My 76 Toyota Corolla (Wagon!) had one key, which I locked in the car at HS one day. Knowing my AP Creative Writing (Senior Course) also had a Toyota (Van), I borrow her key, opened the door to my car, and got my keys. Worked Perfect.
Not mine, but the color is a good match.
