Yes, Leif Tufvesson's T6 is a coach built roadster. Yes, it is aluminum. (You could probably guess based on the name.) The difference is that Leif Tufvesson does all his own metal shaping.

I never read the book, but I hear the radio blog entries on NPR marketplace fairly often, and I enjoyed the movie based on the book. The movie also covers the girls' names issue....some things that used to be acceptable now sound downright trashy.
