Also, that's about 240 bottles, or $46.67 per bottle. Not much savings. But a lot of booze. So that should be right with transportation, taxes and a little profit for them. 258 bottles of Single Barrel puts it right at $43 a bottle. So no penalty or savings, but the discussion piece...
Yes, but the stuff in the barrel will continue to age until you bottle it. In your basement, it'll age differently from how it would age in JD's warehouse. Could be a fun experiment, if you've got some spare cash and really like this stuff.
Personally, I'd rather try a bunch of different bottles than commit to an entire barrel.
Grab a box of tissues boys and girls you're gonna need it. This is Porsche 917-030. Owned by the Late Count Rossi, you konw as in Martini Rosso fame. He had it converted for road used by the factory. This chassis had not been seen in public for about 30 years until it was demonstated by his son Manfredo Rossi at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2009. Apparently he couldn't register it in Europe so he registered it in Alabama on condition he never brought it to the states. The plates on the car in these photos are not the correct original plates.

Sorry, I'm not smart today, I don't know what you mean.

Lemans rules in the 60s used to require certain street car elements (like a spare), or he needed it to make it pass a European inspection of some sort, I'd bet.

Yup, cars had to carry them in sports car racing at the time, it was the rules.
