It's an updated RE Amemiya kit to the best of my knowledge.
They're also responsible for this:
Not to be confused with RS Active, who does this to Miatas:

In honor of the Thud, here is another Republic creation:
Yep, P-51, Miss America perhaps? B-17, Likely "Chucky" (yellow engine cowlings) I was gonna say Corsair for #3.... P-47 And the Republic Thunder Screech. Quite possibly the loudest aircraft ever built.

No. 4 is not a P-47. It's in navy 3 tone camo, which the P-47 never wore. Also, the wing is mounted too high to be a P-47, the jugs was flush with the bottom of the fuselage.
It's an Avenger (TBM/TBF)

No. 4 is this P-47:
Yes, I'm a total airplane nerd!
BTW, I read somewhere that the Thunderscreech was so loud that ground crews would get nauseated during engine runs on the ground.
I should not be looking at Miata based body conversions, but I am. This is my favorite so far:
I'm also digging this:

I was just working on one of those!
The problem with replicas (see the Ferrari 250 GTO above) is that they often fall into the uncanny valley. Close enough to be recognizable, but...off. The lower of the Miatas isn't trying to be anything it isn't, so it works better to me. The Catfish, of course, is just trying to be a Catfish.
Had some time to kill this afternoon, SWMBO and I went to the mall, saw this in the parking deck. After some investigation, found out that the wheels were repossessed. I hear the lease-to-own "Rimz" ad on the radio, hadn't thought about what would happen if you didn't pay for them, I guess I know now.

It's much easier to squirt it on with a mig.
Sweet!!! KUKA LBR.
In July, I will have two of these little guys on my line at work. The first ones ever placed into a production environment. Can't wait!!!
