The $20 Device to Replace Dirty Carburetors
In search of a cleaner motorcycle, Lihang Nong, a recent graduate of the University of Michigan, developed the PicoSpray. This all-in-one electronic-fuel-injection system could be used in mowers, generators, bikes, and ATVs.
I love gifs, but my bandwidth doesn't handle kids streaming netflix/my wife playing games/AND me watching gifs. Could we keep gifs in the gif thread please?

This interests me, I have a sickness and have seen pretty much all of the turbo and/or fuel injected Briggs & Stratton videos that Youtube has to offer.
I have done some Googleing about this, not much to be found outside of the "Green Save The Planet" blogs and the like. I watched/read some interviews with the kid behind this, but there's nothing more shown that what is pictured. The "test mule" bike shown in the UM video has a suitcase strapped to the back, wires going everywhere, and duct tape. I assume a lot of those wires are for monitoring/testing.
I have questions, how does it time the injection pulse? How does it measure the Air Fuel ratio? Where do they expect to put the battery, and alternator to keep said battery charged on these Asian Country dirt bikes and scooters that seem to be his target market? I gathered from the reading that it's gravity fed fuel just like the carbs it's intended to replace, that removes some complication.
Am over thinking this? Besides a power source it still needs some sort of crank/timing sensor, and if it's true goal is fuel efficiency and cleaner emissions it's going to need a lambda sensor in the exhaust, no?

It's not where they say it is, try here:Disney video Now I know why the C7 looks so familiar, it's Lightning McQueens distant cousin.

Looks like mediocre CGI from a bad scifi movie about giant prehistoric fish.

Here's where things get a little interesting. Those sneaky Pete's at Pixar (just Google "Pixar Theory")! There's little "easter eggs" everywhere such as Mater's licence plate number being "A113" which is the digital arts classroom number at Cal. Or, Lightning McQueen's race number being "95" which is the year that Toy Story was released. Just examples of the endless amount of easter eggs.
Now, take a look at Shifty Sidewinder's race number:
Not sure it's a coincidence that it's the same year as the first Mexico 1000.

You do realize that the Whale Shark still exists? News link: http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2014/08/fisherman-straps-giant-whale-shark-to-roof-of-truck-to-drive-home/

Then maybe there should be a GIF thread? Because I agree, GIFs in the regular hotlink thread are annoying as berk. At least if they were all ghettoized in one place, it wouldn't randomly berk up the hotlink thread.

Pixar is full of car guys. I stopped by there for a tour (an IT guy was a customer of ours) and there was a Nash Metropolitan in the parking lot on your average Monday. Fantasy Junction is literally across the street. Meanwhile, every single detail needs to be built for a CG film - so it's not surprising that the level of little details is huge.
Traffic jam at the FM Summer Camp.
