I've always been a fan of Alberto Santos-Dumont
There are arguments as to who built the first fixed wing flying machine (Santos-Dumont vs Wright Brothers) but I liked his idea that if people could fly to far away places then they'd meet more people, see that they're not much different, and stop fighting so damn much.
Back to cars. One of the most iconic F1 images of all time. Chris Amon at Oulton park in his Ferrari. Back before big downforce and when cross ply tires meant lot's of slip angle. People say he was at this exact angle lap after lap.
