I wonder how much money is pictured here.
Bummed that my guy Phil lost in the finals last night. Been really fun rooting that guy on since I discovered professional darts about a year ago.

assuming you're referring to the 2014 Ladbrokes World Darts Championship ?
if so Phil Taylor lost in the second round (he was shooting for his 16 title)
Michael van Gerwen won his first World Championship by defeating Peter Wright 7–4 in the final
Michael vanGerwen
a perfect 501 game (for those that don't play) is 9 darts … this pic is from the last set (I think the first game) his first 4 darts were triple 20's … finished in either 11 or 12 darts …there hadn't been a perfect game in the world championships in a long long time … years
Peter Wright:
been watching it all this month
I made it to the finals in the NC State championships many many yrs ago

I haven't followed the pro darts world since I stopped playing …. late 90's
who is considered to be the "world champion" now … the PDC William Hill, or the Ladbrokes World Championships … or any of the other multitude of World Championships out there ?
John Lowe and Eric Bristow were the big names back in the day (my days of tournament play)

Dunno which tourney is the de facto "World Championship". I was following along with one a couple months ago and they seemed to think they were the bee's knees. I'm not really a darts expert, just enjoy following along and watching when I can. Adrian Lewis and Phil Taylor are the two I root for. Enjoy listening to interviews with them even though I only understand half of what they say due to the heavy accents and other vernacular oddities.
The thing that really blows my mind is the speed at which the judges can add up the score after the three darts have been thrown. Double and triple 20's I can do but when 19's and 17's show up I lose it.
when I played, most of us could do that … now ??? no way
usually I knew as soon as the dart hit the board, I knew what I had left, and how I wanted to attack the remainder … occasionally I'd have to stop and consider what was the best way to go.. depending on where we were in the game …
but as to the adding and subtracting, yeah ..that's pretty automatic when you're at that level
obligatory hotlink
Scarlett Johansson is going to be the live action Major Kusanagi
I'm not sure if Scarlett is badass or cyborg enough to fill the role.

It could work, but only Ron Perlman can play Batou, anything less and well they'll have failed out of the box.
