Tri 5s are passe to me, too. Of course so are most of the muscle cars from the 60s and 70s. I'm sure when I'm 50 or 60, I'll be drooling over NA/NB Miatas, Fox Body Mustangs, and rwd 80s Toyotas. While my son will probably think the same thing I do about previous generation irrational love for specific models. That ford almost has a fresh look to it. Nostalgia!!! LOLz

I didn't live through the 1980's so maybe I will hit my limit some day! I have to say the 49-51 for shoe is a really sweet car. In both stock and lead sled form.
But my next project might be a 62-63 ford falcon with a SR20DET or 2JZ swap. Just for the fun of it!
Guy at work hhad a '55 Vic Skyliner, thick green glass up front. Arctic white and torch red.
The exhaust had red diamond shaped glass on the tips.

This is my friend's 57 Ranch Wagon. Notice the fins: all 57 wagons had the small fins from the 300 series. He embiggened the fins on his to match the larger 500 series and Thunderbird fins.
This one was mine. I miss it until I remember it drove worse than my F350. Very cool, but not very fun to drive.

There are ways to fix that...

Hey, it's that fuglified BMW from a split second shot in Back to the Future II!
A little something I'm "helping out with". A writer came out the other day. I wasn't pictured anywhere, but the guy filming in the top pic was totally filming me. I'll make a thread when I have info to share.

I have been thinking the same thing but with this engine and respective drivetrain instead.

You probably don't want to know how cheap it is to swap an Ecoboost into something rear wheel drive. Granted, it is not Challenge cheap, but not terribly much more either.
Driving an RX-8 the other day, I found myself thinking, man, an Ecoboost in this thing would be pretty neat. And since the RX-8 and NC share so much, I bet it would be practically a bolt-in, as long as it clears the hood and firewall.

Wait, come again? I'm fairly certain we DO want to know...

All on some variant of torque thrusts. However, I get excited when I see a 57 Ford I actually quite like the stock bugeye look but the frenched lights in the above pic look quite nice.
I hear you on the burnout...
Last time I went to the British car show, this was the MGB area. Three 100 yard lines of them! Pretty much a cookie cutter collection. Might have been the last time I drove the car.
A little Craigslist find. I actually like the lines of this car. http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/cto/5245675049.html It needs a period dash however.

I thought of that too, but right now I am still thinking Audi V8....
