I found a free pdf of it online several years ago and read it online, didn't save a copy. It has since been taken down (as it should be, I'm sure.) It was a great book.
Speaking of stupidly expensive books,
I was lucky enough to pick up Smokey's book when it was an affordable paperback. It's now in "multiple readings" condition, but it's not for sale.
Now, this one I had to pay collector prices for at Le Mans. But it was worth it. BTW, there's a copy on Amazon right now for under $200...
You bemoan book prices? Pete Bower's Fortress in the Sky was only printed once. Originally for $12.50. I've seen it north of $100.
Looks like is time for an obscure aircraft.
Looks like a great place to take a walk.

Budget 3 times that for Wyer's book. Interestingly, most of the available copies seem to be coming out of UK public libraries. Heck, one of my own books goes for more than $100 these days. Racing In The Rain, a great companion to Wyer's book, is now sitting at $125 on Amazon.
Both of these are much better books for real car guys than the very popular (and cheap) "Go Like Hell" from A J Baime, in my opinion. Go Like Hell is a fast, fun read about a couple of characters, the Wyer/Horsman books tell you everything you might want to know about HOW to win Le Mans - even after the big kids get bored and leave.

I think those were small furry mammal tracks up to the point where they became big bird of prey tracks.

Oh, now I get it, that's supposed to be a bird of prey swooping onto a small animal and grabbing it.
Yeah, great place for a walk...unless you were the rabbit.
I think I saw that image posted elsewhere with some blatheration about proof of angels. Like the wing marks were the beginning of the line instead of the end of the line.

New Orleans needs that this time of year.
