Dad taught at Robert Goddard High School in Roswell, NM. Goddard had lived in and experimented with rockets around Roswell in the 1930's.
We painted my first bike Columbia blue, one of the school colors (Navy, Columbia Blue, and White). We never heard about space aliens around Roswell then (mid-60's), but we darn sure knew who Goddard was.
