Looks like the starter sits "above" the belt driven lump - must be a dry sump oil pump.

edit: so just did the math on this, the truck bed is ~72 cubic feet and a cubic foot of water weights 62 lbs.
That means 72x62 = 4464 lbs of water. What surprises me is that once the suspension set down to the overload springs it didnt squat anymore, still had ~2 inches to the bump stops.

Drive up onto a truck scale - fill the bed until water starts spilling over – have daughter note total weight – have daughter climb into the bed and float – have daughter notice that weight is unchanged – enjoy blown away look in daughter’s eyes.
