Not sure if one of those silly desert racing support trucks or motorhome. Slightly concerned that this is in Ohio. More concerned about the bad ideas that I am getting. I'm thinking double decker NPR combo car hauler and motorhome. With an 8' ceiling, I could have three feet of sleeper space in a false roof above the car, and underslung gear boxes/tire storage/??? under the main floor.

I'm not even a motorcycle guy and that pushes my buttons. Although it strikes me as having the wrong tires for street use and not enough suspension for dirt use. But all the right parts for looking good use.

Meanwhile, this thing was at SEMA. Best restomod I've ever seen.

I don't think that is a restomod. I think that is a new custom build to look resto.

It is wicked.

You're right, it's a new bike: http://www.rolandsands.com/blog/612/rsd-scout. Not being a bike guy, the only thing I know about Indian comes from the World's Fastest Indian movie and I assumed they'd gone under around WWII. Regardless, that bike was a real treat to look at.

In reply to Keith Tanner:

That black bike is pretty close to what you would call a "Street Tracker". Bars with a slight rise, long flat seat that's good for moving human ballast where it needs to be, and knobbies.

Here's Guy Martin on a proper Flat Tracker at DirtQuake...

And, now that I've thought about it a little more "Scrambler" is probably a closer definition for that bike.

In reply to Burrito:

Once motocross bikes and enduro bikes were invented, real scramblers were no longer needed, so this might be trivial, but I think your first call of street tracker was closer.

It gets tricky with customs these days, so let's see if I have this right, and correct me if I am wrong:

Scrambler=street bike with knobby tires, high pipes, and rise bars. Obviously way, way cooler than those old-news cafe racers, at least for another couple months.

Bobber=Cut off most of the seat and mount as low as possible, cut most/all of the rear fender off and remove most/all of the rear suspension travel. Timeless. Hope you don't accelerate too hard or hit a bump!

Cafe racer=take off the front fender, throw away the airbox and side covers, hide the battery, and add clip-ons. Small-ish seat. Small tailsection, often rounded.

Bonus points for sideways license plate on the swingarm on either of the above.

Street tracker=take off the front fender, put on slight rise bars with some sweep, treaded tires, long-ish seat. Small, high-ish tail section, often square.

Streetfighter=what a cheapskate squid/stunter sportbike becomes when still running after a crash. Optional flat black rattle can and rise bars. Mandatory eBay-sourced "headlight."

In case anyone hasn't checked asking prices lately, all of the above are worth way, way more than a stock low miles creampuff when selling on craigslist, because custom.
