Judging by the battery corrosion, you're probably right.

There is 1 year and 170K miles difference between the finishes though, and ... the miata was the last car I drove actually, so residual probably isn't it.

It used to be VERY common to have two rows of three abreast seating, it just used to be on bench seats, not individual buckets.

And then you get oddities like vehicles that should have three seats in the back... but don't.
