That is a Pontiac Montana!

Seeing as how the blower is still on the motor it's probably not compressor parts.
Seeing as how the car has been cut in half at the bell-housing it could be the drivers leg. Removed by the exploding flywheel. That's why there aren't any rear driver cars anymore.
Edit: Great picture though. The spectators in the background haven't even realized what's happening yet.

Seeing as that's Don Garlits, I'm gonna guess that's not his leg. He only lost part of his foot in this accident.

It's a "band" from his Garlits Drive transmission. He did loose part of his foot though.

It is the accident that caused Garlits to go rear-engined dragster. The rest is history. He wasn't the first, but he made it work.
"My" first car was like this, but with a gray fender and a smashed up bumper
Low on power, nice suspension, and I pushed it to the limit almost every time I drove it. How I made it to 19 is beyond me...
God I still miss that car, or what it could have been...
Dude, my first car was an 86 Accord! I miss it too, my ex got t-boned in it like a few month after I gave it to her. I too had big dreams for the car. Mine was gold like this: (first hotlink here on GRM, thank you)
Another former 3G accord owner, 1989 LXi, what a great car!
She cleaned up well too, wish they made paint like that today...
