Mercedes T80 designed to beat the worlds land speed record. The attempt was set for the January 1940 "RekordWoche" (Record/Speed Week), but the outbreak of the war prevented the T80 run.

I thought there was something where the Mopar A/FX cars got so radical that the drag racing sanctioning bodies basically banned wheelbase alteration beyond a couple percent.
Gloriously "ratty" looking GN Parker special with 6 litre Gypsy Moth engine @ShelsleyWalsh last weekend for the vintage hillclimb.
Streamlined Le Mans MGA
1955 Dundrod TT, twin cam driven by Ron Flockhart and Johnny Lockett. Retired at half distance with cracks in the Weber manifold.
959/60 Bocar Stiletto: Designed to compete against the Scarabs, the first X-1 version had Jaguar suspension, 283 Chevy power and a fiberglass body. Later versions (XP-2 to XP5) saw refinements in the brakes and weight distribution. The later XP-6 version had an extended frame to accommodate a front mounted supercharger and a swap to a solid rear axle to handle the additional power. Bob Carnes ran this in drag races, road races and hill climbs including Daytona and Pikes Peak. 3 of the XP-6 were built.
OK, which one of you guys built this?
Les Schwenk's Bergundy Baron backwards 1965 Pontiac GTO. Not sure the motivation for this but I love anyone who dares to be different. This one is set up for drag racing and uses a stout mid mounted 400 Pontiac for power. Having it sitting beside you as you drive could be a bit unsettling...
967 - Dick Mills' (#9) Modified “The Invader” – Used an Airplane's Landing Gear Hydraulics, Plumbed it all up with Backhoe Controls, and His Rail Frame Became Springless – Powered by a 1957 Caddy with a 4-Barrel Carb and Funneled that Power Through an Automatic Transmission – a 1937 Ford 3-Window Shell was Crowned with an Early Wing, and the Side pods Contained the Battery and 3-Five Gallon GI Cans for Fuel. “The Invader” was way fast, but Mills never could develop its full potential. Apparently, the Tech Inspectors were not amused.
My first car was a baby blue one like this. 65 not 66 as in the picture
And then I had a 68 340S with one of those special packages the factory was putting out back then.
And I traded that in on an AAR Cuda
This 1964 Subaru 360 features an air-cooled two-stroke engine so has fill ups require a little splash of oil.

Parnelli won. His only 500 win.
