Truckers protested in Washington DC, not happy about the Electronic Logging Devices. They gathered at the National Mall....

1, Improve safety and training standards across the trucking industry.
2, Eliminate the “fourteen hour rule,” allowing drivers to split “sleeper time.”
3. Reclassification of professional truck driving as a skilled trade.
4. Hold shippers/receivers financially responsible for detention; drivers should be compensated for all on-duty time.
5. Improve parking infrastructure at rest stops and other stopping areas along the road network; crowding stopping areas and parking on an on-ramp or off-ramp is potentially dangerous

I had online friends who were OTR truckers. From what I infer, most of what they probably don't like about electronic logging is that it is harder to cook the books and run more hours than the law allows.
My favorite story from one of them, from Texas, was him venting about the sizable Amish population we have here in Ohio. Y'see, he liked to run "silent and deep" like a submarine, blowing down secondary back-road highways in order to avoid weight checks, but the problem with that plan is once you stray far from the Interstate corridors, it's all beards and straight-pin dresses and buggies, which can be a bit of a surprise to see when your overweight rig crests a hill doing 75.
The irony: I only know of one weigh station in Ohio, it is on I-76 between 71 and 77 (meaning, the part that isn't Turnpike), and it has been closed for many years.
It would be quite funny to me if a Hurricane hit the continent that spawns so many of them.
There was a car show downtown Sunday, they close off four blocks of the main drag downtown and a few side streets. Weather was creepy so only ~70% full.

I really like the unrestored caddy hearse. That wild-looking engine with the 2 four barrels on it, is that in the Cadillac? I've never seen that Edelbrock intake.
It was in a 70s C-10. And, how to win a Halloween costume.
This is a Dwarf Car, someone strapped on lights and turn signals, made it street legal. Wonder how they did it, legally wise.

At first glance, I hated that. But on second glance, I decided that's a far better fate than being turned into yet another counterfeit GTO.

Did you see the name of the wheel company?
^They'll either crack open on the first pothole or weigh 30lbs a piece, but either way they'll look cool doing it...
