my first EDM class had one of these (donated from a local business) and we programed (huge stacks of punch cards) using Fortran

I got my certification from Commodore in September '87 to fix the A500's and A2000's. Training was held at their headquarters in West Chester, PA. QVC's headquarters is there now.
Our first computer- minus the monitor, we just used a TV.
IIRC, it cost $2500. (according to inflation calculators- that's a $5700 computer today.
Oh, and that $8500 386 from '88- that's almost $16,000 in todays $$. Some serious computers can be bought with $16k!!!
