Oh how quick we judge...
I think that is an Opel Insignia (weird extra tail lights under the rear hatch). I'm going to guess that the picture is from Germany and that the shadow at the bottom left is a big ADAC truck, blocking of 2 lanes with big warnings lights and warning signs. Looking to the right and at the signs up ahead, the truck probably escorted them to an area with reduced speed (for entries and exits to the highway) so they could block 2 lanes where cars are not doing 200km/h. Looking to the right there is clearly a highway entry, so pulling over there isn't an option.
Even in Germany, even with a big ADAC truck following me when it happened, common sense says to drive 100 yards to safety on an already butchered tire. Someone planks that truck at speed and now more people are inconvenienced.
This poor thing has been there a long time, there was a TREE growing through the dodges front wheel.
Edit: can’t see it there but all the tires on truck and trailer are flat and brush is growing around everything.

I don’t see how you go to all that trouble and then not add a C or D type driver ‘aerodynamic fin’ behind the cage?
Also, this image makes me want to build a “do all the things” OneLap/DragWeek/TimeTrial/E-Mod E-Type
I'm not sure what a near-peer threat is ..... My first job was here turning 8 inch Navy guns and relining a few 16 inchers.

Start a new thread, please describe the process of relining a 16" barrel!!!
Required
Adrian, a whole thread is not required. Basically you punch out the original bore, make it smooth and straight. Make a sleeve that's the same size OD. Fill the sleeve with dry ice (or leave it outside in the winter), run the old barrel in a furnace to warm it up (heat expands) Slide them together. You get one shot, and everybody's watching.
This is the lathe. Modern production items use a head with carbide tips and electronic sensors for size and straightness. (in the same building)
This is our museum. The entire building is cast iron.
Below is a machine shop replicating one of the late 1800s. Line drive, flat leather belts. THAT'S why we have OSHA.
grandfather tarasi retired a full bird colonel from the 34th infantry devision. Fought the entirety of ww2 in the armored Calvary devision. This is their insignia. I figured if i bought grandfather crawfords 105th bomber squadron decal i should buy the calvary as well.
I had some ass kicking grandfathers.
Sorry, gotta.
CaLVary is where Jesus had his moment in the cross.(Stones)
CaValRy is horses and stuff. Oh yeah, 5th Cav; don’t show up at the Colonels house wearing your cowboy hat.
