Based on the fact that the car is a nice 1.6 Miata still on the stock daisies, I'm assuming the potato is because they're old pictures. Like, "check out my new camera, it's digital!". Looks like they've also been compressed out the wazoo.
If you look at the website - bubbletop.biz - you'll see that it also appears to be from that same era although that's likely a bad template. The domain was registered in 2009.
I'm going to say that the solar gain on this critter might be fairly intense.
