Not a good picture that, but an interesting story. Roddy McMillan from North Battleford Sk. bought this car, brand new, and turned it into a funny car while still making payments on it to GMAC. He ended up touring around with it for a while, sponsored by (company I can't remember, maybe Coke), driving the tow vehicle, servicing, racing.
Also spent time in competitive body building in California back in the Arnold days. He's 70 or so, and I would still run away from him if I ever pissed him off.

My uncle had one, he worked nights so my Cousin got to drive it to school everyday. Must have some new leafs or a non-standard shackle on it because i don't remember them riding that high in the back. That one looks nice and that's about what those are selling for now. I loved the look of the Daytona pace car version. Obligatory hotlink:

Haha! Supposedly, according to the winery co-owner, "Soda Pup" (male) is quite friendly. But I agree, he sure doesn't look too friendly. Here he is from "another angle."
We had a Whole Foods order being delivered tonight. I was tracking the progress of the deliverer and was out on the front steps to be sure the person found our house easily. When I stepped out I immediately heard the fantastic sound of the Spring Peepers coming from the pond behind the cemetary across the street. First real sign of Spring, so that was a bit uplifting in these sober times.
Addendum: while I was doing that, Annie was Facetiming with our three granddaughters. They're old enough to know we're in unusual times, but nevertheless they were happy, animated, and they missed us. So Annie and I are feeling pretty good tonight, despite what's going on.
Why did the Falcon get so much overseas racing action? Wasn't it the most flimsy/econo model they made in the 60s?

I wasn't really sure why, but this article indicates that it was Ford's intent to boost the car's image above that "cheap economy car" stigma that it had.
