Or, what makes an Outlaw 356?
(Basically a modified/hot rodded example, mild, wild or somewhere in between. The Emory family started building hot rod Porsche 356s around 20-30 years ago and the 356 elite purist enthusiast community began using the term "outlaw" for them, somewhat sarcastically. But eventually the Emory cars and the term outlaw became accepted and respected. The same could be said for Karmann Ghias. If it isn't a completely authentic, stock example, you could call it an outlaw. It's kinda like pornography ... difficult to define specifically, but you know it when you see it. In a good way).
Mmmm, stout (actually, this is Guinness, not Murphy's. Just a Murphey's glass). And yes, I need to stain my deck this Spring.
I thought i had a pro-touring Beetle. Now i realize I really have an "Outlaw Beetle".
I have to admit, after viewing the above pictures... I have access to a complete 60s Ghia with a ton of patina... got me thinking about doing an easy body swap. Result may be greater top speed... just saying.
Anyway, this evening, after a sunset blast out in the countryside (social distancing at speed), i backed the outlaw VW into its home, content that we outran the virus for another day.

Yes, that's an an Outlaw Beetle. Nice. Do the Karmann Ghia as a stand-alone, not a body swap!!!
BTW, that's a great pic. Your garage looks fantastic.

Gary,
Enjoying your pictures. The last one... two famous Connecticut residents. The UOP Shadow, got to see it at Road Atlanta.
OMG, the shop looks like a bomb went off in it. One would think I could straighten it up for a picture. I was walking into the house with the supplies from our liquor store run, turned around and looked back into the shop, thought to myself, "its good to be alive"... and shot the picture on impulse.
Continuing with the Sam Posey theme, a 4 sequence set my mother took of the splash & dash stop at the Lime Rock Trans Am. Look at the spillage!! The chap in the blue shirt looking down in the last picture was an upset official...
Yesterday, a huge fire of unknown origin destroyed over 3,500 rental cars at Southwest International Airport in Fort Myers, Florida.

A friend got an English Bulldog puppy. His wife called it a cuddly scrotum.
I am not doing an image search for cuddly scrotum.

I remember an interview with Roger Penske and Sam Posey, talking about creative rules interpretation. Penske had a canister installed just below the trunk lid as part of the fuel filler tube; held an extra gallon or so of gas.
Penske: Well. where did you keep yours?
Posey: (sheepishly) "Under the dash..."

Actully it is The one and only XB-15 it is much larger than the 299 or B-17. It shares a wing with the boring 314 clipper. The wing is so large and it has tunnels that allow access to the engines in flight. Boeing 314 below.
