There was a reality show on CBC recently where they chose an average family to live through what it was like in Canada, usually starting in the 40's with each weekly episode being a decade right up to the 90's
It was called Back in time and our favourite was Back in time for dinner. They remodelled the house for each decade, wore era appropriate clothing and made and ate food suitable for the time. That recipe was on one of them. It's rare that we watch a weekly TV show - and we've never watched a reality show, but this one was good. No fake scripted drama here
I watched the Australian version of that, it was really interesting. I enjoyed that they made it so immersive, the clothes, the decorating, the jobs and household chores all fitting the period they were living that week.
They made the liver pineapple that Duke also posted. From memory it was covered in mayonnaise with yellow food colouring and studded with stuffed olives.
I might have to try and find the Canadian and British versions to see what similarities and differences the different countries has over the years.

I've seen them this week but only in actual construction. There's plenty of it here as they've been taking advantage of the empty roads to pave pretty much everything.

Yeah, I had to grab the link before the vid started so it would not be in my head for days. William Shatner tried his hand at singing at about the same time frame. Nemoy and Shatner should have just stuck with acting.
