Yes, Stalin was a bit of a dick, even if you don't consider the millions he killed. His philosophy of intimidation, vengeance and fear still flow in the blood of Russia to this day...

I wouldn't give Stalin that much credit. A philosophy of intimidation, vengeance, and fear is a large part of Russian history dating back hundreds of years. He was just the most recent tsar to eliminate enough of his enemies to keep from being removed from power, after reading history books and treating them as instruction manuals.
I wouldn't trust Soviet airplanes either
