Pretty dang cool!
Hotlinked from something I posted elsewhere.
Mrs. P had the pizza from this truck and said it was quite good.
Yes, they actually had a pizza oven inside and cooked it onsite.

This pic looks like it was taken about the same time the pc nanny state was banning books like Naked Lunch ;)
Russian Tu-95. Absurdly loud (submerged submarines can detect them flying over head), shockingly fast and very long range and packing a Gast cannon in the back. Russian engineering at its finest. And then some mad lad made them into airliners. Interior noise levels were 108-112db at cruising speeds.

Literally just came here to post this.

I believe the TU-95 holds the speed record for propeller-driven aircraft (Rare Bear has the record for piston-driven engines).
Airliner version was the TU-114. It sat so high off the ground that when Krushchev used one to visit the US, Andrews AFB didn't have a ladder tall enough, so he and his people had to use the emergency exit to get out.

Man, that thing is just waiting to crack the back of your head open on the pavement the second you look at the throttle.
Whomever made that thing above shares the same philosophy of adventurous engineering and reckless disregard for child safety that I do.

that will save you from the broken arm, shoulder, clavicle, mandible, etc. that happens when you try to turn it.
Some things look dangerous because they are. Some things are dangerous even when they don't look like it. As an example, I present our cat, Sweetie Slasher.
Sorry about the distorted image, I assume the techs are working on that problem.

Bruce Bohannon's Pushy Galore set a ton of time to climb records at Oshkosh. Fun plane to watch. Not very successful at Formula air racing. But everyone came in second place behind Nemesis.

Somewhere I've got a book of children's experiments that used to belong to my dad when he was a kid.
Every other page is "fill this reservoir with liquid mercury"

And while we are of like mind on many things, we are 180 degrees out on this.
The 70's was the best decade I will ever know
Obligatory hotlink of your's truly enjoying the 70's (Sportsman's show, circa 72/73)

Who was the book aimed at that they felt the need to specify liquid mercury. Kids living in Antarctic?
