Looking at the little anodized button below the headlight corner, I'm thinking it has a fascia that will actually cover that stuff, too.

Ohhh, very cool. Thanks. Mine is a fake picture btw, captured in a recent Assetto Corsa race we had then processed through a PS filter. One of our AC racers used to run at Bridgehampton, so any pics from there are always of interest. Here another processed one from a Riverside race:
I took the Sprite pic in 1970, and the one below in '77. My mother took the one of PLN's Datsun, and she is actually in the pic below, working station 8. Tiny figue in yellow hat.
This looks like fun. The 1600 gallons of gas would be a little painful. I might need to come up with a fuel-efficient diesel for that trip.

Quite the road trip. I'd have concerns about traveling through the multiple war zones, myself.
Picture for context.

You just need a durable vehicle. The fuel economy hit would be painful.
Or maybe an alternate route.

Maybe things will settle down by the time I retire. Or I won't care as much. Once I drive to Alaska it's just a short boat ride across to Russia. At 30 mpg maybe my gas bill won't be as bad.
