I remember being served something called, "Salisbury steak" in our school lunches when I was in elementary school. It was some slab of meat with a sort of gravy.
It was a very popular meal. I asked the other kids if they knew what Salisbury steak really was. No one knew, so I told them it was a different name for horse meat, "... and I love horse meat!"
It was an easy way to get seconds or thirds when some of my classmates suddenly lost their appetites.
I guess I'm proof that even a little kid can be a shiny happy person.
You'd get along good with the Goose.
I just watched the movie for the first time last year, but I don't get the reference. Help me out please?
Can't find video link, paraphrasing from memory.
Goose, at diner: (smiling and laughing the whole time) "So he crashes, flies through the windscreen, headfirst straight into tree, and bounces back through the windscreen, and when we come to him, he's just sitting there trying to scream with his face ripped off."
Guy he's talking to at diner: (feels sick, pushes food away) "I'm not hungry, am I..."
Goose: (grabs plate) "Give it here!"

Nope, I was wondering why a a second gen Astra / KAdett has five lug wheels.
And I was trying to figure out how hard it would be to get a 2nd gen Astra/Kadett so I too could swap a B204 SAAB engine and running gear. That's neat. Even Wikipedia mentions that this swap is really easy since they share the same mounting points.
You know what else is a bolt in...
Lancer Evolution engine in a first generation Volvo S40.
Not sure about the SAAB/J-car connection, but Volvo bought a license to build the Evo III chassis, and although they only ever made front wheel drive models, it has the wide AWD center tunnel. Just need to do a little cutting in the back and figure out the fuel tank setup, and find a front cut and rear cut, and you can make a Swedish Evo of your own...
...although personally, I'd want to stick low compression pistons in the existing 1.9l Volvo engine and boost it to the moon. Most of the ones sent to the US used the same AW55 transmission as 99% of the turbo five cylinder offerings, it's just a matter of installing the AWD drive spud and an angle gear.

It's like someone wanted to do a cybertruck joke but actually wanted a usable vehicle out of it. Neat!

You missed the last of the 'V' bombers.
And all three together, the Victor, Vulcan, and Valiant.
I've always loved all the V bombers, especially the Vulcan as it looked so cool to a kid being a delta wind. Of course it also helped that it was in On Her Majesties Secret Service.
If you haven't heard of Operation Black Buck you should check Wiki and YouTube for one of the various documentaries on it. Cliff notes. 1982 Falklands war, a single Vulcan was flown from the British Ascension islands to the Falklands and back to bomb the runway of the seized airport. They needed to do this to prevent air attack on the approaching British fleet. One Vulcan and 15 sorties by Victors to refuel each other and the Vulcan. Incredible story.
