I appreciate that Kawasaki's mindset in the '70s seemed to be "We actively want to murder our clientele."

I had a few of those.
The last one had a top end and transmission built by Paul Gast.
If I had a pic to post, it would just be a brown smear....

You owned a 750 Mach IV and are still with us to tell the tale? Impressive.
This is the built one.
.030" over bore, Ported and timed by Gast, 1, 2, and third gears undercut, so no clutch needed to shift, 6" over swingarm, 6" D.I.D. rear wheel with a 6" slick. Wirges pipes, air shifter, and 40mm Mikunis.
It ran mid to high 6's in the 1/8th around 100mph, usually on one wheel.
It was fast enough to be fun without eating itself every weekend.
I kinda miss it.

What are you talking about? It has disk brakes on the front, plural, and not a drum.

i was going to make a joke about how those guys look sorta like Alex P. Keaton and Reverend Jim, but then I realized, that's actually them.
I heard they were in a couple movies together.

Was that not the bike for which the term "Speed wobble" was created?

Mine was built to approximately 900 cc's, British road racing frame, three expansion chamber's and it idled at 3,500 RPM. There is absolutely no reason on Earth why I am alive today. It should have killed me several times over. Swore I would give up road bikes and a year later bought a CBX.
Winner of the coolest food truck in my opinion. the sandwhich? a double decker cheeseburger of course.
