Yeah, but the Futura's funny looking body wasn't fixable. DW is maybe 6" shorter than I am but our legs are almost the same. With the bench seat in her driving position I physically could not get into the front seat, even as a passenger. It was not a base model but it had no A/C, clock, or cigarette lighter. The horn was a stalk on the side of the column you had to push in. The steering was bad, the brakes were bad, the power was bad. There was no joy to be had looking at it, sitting in it, or driving it.
In all sincerity the only redeeming feature it had was the windshield washer.

Heh. I was helping my girlfriend from high school learn to drive in one, bench seat and all. She was 17" shorter than me.
