Well at that range with a 12 gauge, he'd have been red mist not dinner.

Yeah.. that's probably about the face I'd expect to see a tiger make, were it to suddenly wake up and find that it was a jetliner with wings and all that..
Today is the 49th anniversary of the Tupolev Tu-44, AKA the 'Concordski' crashing at the Paris air show. The plane made a too steep climb before breaking up. Theories range from pilot error (showing off), through the pilot trying to avoid a French Mirage trying to got close for spy photo's in flight to simple industrial espionage. Either way, it was a tragedy as all eight people on the plane, and six on the ground were killed.
Rackin' 'em up for Nick:
Man, this weird forum thing where pasting an image just gives you the alternate text is getting old.

Been in that building. Summer of 92, middle of august. Ambient temperature slightly warmer than the surface of the sun for a guy who grew up in Yorkshire England where a 70 degree day was a heatwave. Young shy Engineer (23) when suits and ties were still required for business meetings. No air conditioning. See those massive windows? Great for letting in light for drafting tables, great as a greenhouse too. After two hours of meetings with not so much as a sip of water it was break time. Awesome, liquid at least. Nope, it's Italy, one shot of espresso each. berkeley. Head off to the bathroom, piss in the hole in the floor, wash hands and in utter desperation I drank handful after cupped handful of water from the wash basin faucet as I was really really dehydrated. FLy home that night and get sick. Next day I am so so sick that I sweated through my down comforter in about 30 mins, wet to the touch on the outside. Off work for the rest of the week keeping nothing inside me. Not sure if it was something from the water or just something else I picked up, but I'm betting it was the water. If I was the person I am now, or even a few years older than I was then, I would have politely explained I was thirsty and asked for some water, but I was too young and nervous at the time. Still an impressive building, even though I never saw the roof.

Can't help it. That looks great. I was mildly offended the other day when an HVAC guy asked if my X1/9 was a Fiero.
Note: Not my car, but picture somewhat related. Edit: picture disappeared. Here's a new one.
