In 1981 I wiped out on my BMX bike berkeleying around. Smashed my head pretty bad and had to have all my upper teeth wired in, I lost the front four. I also lost a ton of blood running down the street in a river.
In 1985 I was turning 15 and thought I was a stud. Then I got a letter from the hospital that said I need to go in and get tested for AIDS. Talk about letting wind out of a guys sails.
Only 5% for a transfusion. Phew.
