Been on the hunt for one of these white squirrels for a while now. Finally found one. Problem is, now I have lost a reason to go for long walks looking for the little rats with furry tails.
Have you never gone to see the white squirrels in Exeter?

There is every reason to suspect that works better than most of the snap ring pliers you can buy.

The Hell with the squirrels, I am so happy to hear your "Voice" on line!
Mrs NOHOME and I have walked many a mile up near Exeter and not seen the little buggers; to the point where we thought it was a joke on tourist. This time I saw one! Wonder if they taste better than the gray ones?
So, gotta ask, since you seem to be sticking around, what are the plans for the challenge car? I l know it is on the wrong side of the border, but if a cross border effort where you got it to my shop can be arranged, maybe we can finish what you started?
I had a company 1st Sgt in the Army who hated squirrels. Our company had a standing order that anyone who spotted a squirrel during a morning run had permission to break ranks and chase it. If he was able to land a kick to it on the grass, he got a two-day pass. If he caught up to it in the street, he got a three-day pass. I never saw anyone actually get close to kicking one. I think the guy just loved watching enlisted idiots chasing squirrels.

Here's the thing. I never have issues EXPANDING snap rings. That's the easy part.
- If the snap ring is installed over a dowel, bolt, etc, then a simple flat-bladed pry-driver is all that's needed to work it wider and slip it off.
- If the snap ring needs to be expanded to be installed on a dowel, then it's just a matter of angling it correctly and pushing.
Now, compressing a snap ring. That's the tough bit.

The Corolla will likely be put up for sale next spring depending on how my health is at the time. I doubt I'll ever be 100% again.
