The Americans make a supercar!!!
Assuming that's a general comment. The car in the pic is not a Vector, it's an Isdera Imperator a German car made from the early 80's to early 90's, based of the 70's Mercedes CW311 concept car.
Isdera
Vector W8
I was also stunned by the Vector as a kid. I remember reading a test drive in 'Performance Car' which was the predecessor of EVO magazine in content and style. I loved everything about it except, as a Brit, the concept of a three speed auto which made as much sense as a chocolate teapot.

The TH425 transmission was stronger than any other available transaxle.
Plus, it was American.
I was talking about these at work the other day. Supposedly the car was designed with no compromises for cost over quality. No fuses in the wiring harness, it instead had mil-spec circuit breakers, stuff like that.

Hmm.
now I am sad that it was a photoshop and not a real car.
That TR7 discussion starts on page 66 but the entire thread is pretty thought provoking

That looks great! Roadsters should always be available in green.
It looks terrific in metallic BRG, and instead Mazda gave us berkeleying tan.
It just occurred to me that I've been a customer for quite some time, and I could probably update their name in my computer.
In reply to chandler :
Fake patina is fake, but that's pretty cool anyway.
This thing showed up at one of the Coatesville Vintage Grand Prix. '49 Ford draped over an old ARCA chassis. Loud and fast, but unfortunately the owner was a bit of a tool.
In reply to Duke :
Nothing tops Scott Birdsall/Chuckle's Garage's "Old Smokey" F-1. 1400+hp from a compound turbocharged Cummins, crazy chassis and genuine patina. It's done 200mph in a standing mile and has set records at Pike's Peak.
