I heard that for boats that want to go really fast, having one propeller blade in the water is one of the best ways to do that, since it reduces drag. In the image above, it looks like the propeller blade has just the tips hitting the water.

Well I should have typed: how much faster would it go with just a jockey driving it? If it already has just the prop in the water with about 450lbs extra in the boat. A buck ten jockey would would reach ludicrous speed!
