At a RallyCross last year I worked a corner with a GM engineer who was driving a manufacturer-plated AWD CT4. He said that the General only let certain cars run certain types of motorsports. So, for instance, the Camaro cannot RallyCross, but can autocross. I'm not sure how the CT4 qualifies as a RallyCross car -- because AWD?? but that's not my concern. Anyway, he told me they'd gotten a hold of a C8 Corvette and it was approved for RallyCross. They lifted it, put bigger knobbies on it, even put a snorkel on it for just in case. He said it was the best handling RallyCross car he'd ever driven. Like an amazingly faster MR2.
