They might be a little premature..
I don't like the tri-five chevy because everyone and their dog owns one.
There are plenty of offerings from the 50's that aren't from Chevrolet.

Pretty? Yes. Enviable? (for me) no. Its big, clunky, awkward and heavy. I really can appreciate the effort that went into resoring/maintaining a car of its age to a level pictured above. When you see a labor of love, its obvious. I dont begrudge anyone their love for that car or its peers, but I do not envy them at all.
As much as I might like one like that one, I actually would rather have one done as a "resto" rod... Vette running gear, set up for track duty... I think that would be a blast

and it's not just the '55 .. I also love the looks of the '58 and the '65 ... I know I know, there is still the generational thing
Gawd that thing (Maybach) is fugly.
Not that I don't love some fugliness. I do drive an AW11. I'd also drive the snot out of this abomination.
Here's a way to make your car look even fuglier - contrast!

My dad use to drag race a '55 Bel Aire, I use to know the specs of that car by heart though I'm sure if I think about it I could remember them still.
