Let's see:

Federal/CA emissions laws
CAFE regulations
Federal safety certification process
Willingness of US idiots to sue the carmaker for not making performance cars idiotproof
"That's not a real GTO!" despite its awesomeness
The G8 sold about as well as expired milk despite its awesomeness

Need I go on?

'1-3. So the first three points can be taken care of by all other cars being imported to the US. Why can't the Oz Fords? The Mondeo came here from Europe so why cant the Falcon from Oz? Cars make it here from Japan and Korea and meet all our laws. Along with the gas guzzlers from the big German companies too. Not all Oz Fords cars have +400 hp and neither do the germans.

'4. Show me the "idiot proof" part that is in the Mustang that wouldn't already be in the Falcon.

'5. I don't think the Falcon has quite the name as GTO.

'6. So one or two cars didn't sell well that came from one country. Are we never to import something from that country again?

Look at how successful the CTS is and the CTS-V. The GM Sigma platform was started by Holden as a global RWD platform.

All I would like is a Ford version of the CTS and the CTS-V (rwd, 4 door, and a manual transmission, and an available V8). This is not too much to ask.

Is the CTS-v sold in Europe? I would think it would do well, even after the Brits savage it. Gas mileage might hurt a bit.

Meanwhile in the US of A; Henry Ford called these kangaroo chasers and refused to sell them here since 1938.

What he said. I think they would sell well here. You have the Mustang guys who are die hard Ford guys won't go buy any GM stuff. The GTO was a hunk of crap. Sorry, I had quite a few friends who had them and HATED them. The GT and Typhoon would be friggin awesome here. Call them the new Crown Victoria and win. Or bring back the Falcon name, whatever. Point is, Ford, start listening!!

RE Utes: Thats weird they have exposed tail gate hinges. You'd think it would be more pickup-tailgate-like....

Am I the only one that thinks making a replica of one of these big old race cars would be cool? Depending on the dimensions, start with a full size truck frame...

I'd love one like that
